Author: Coach Tom Izzo said Allen, a starting guard, was suspended indefinitely because of academic issues and a failure to meet other team obligations. Izzo said Allen would not play Friday in MSU's first game of the Big Ten tournament.

Coach Mark Dantonio has reinstated eight football players that he suspended indefinitely a month ago. He also said Wednesday that two other suspended players have transferred and two are weighing their options but are no longer with the team.

Coach Mark Dantonio did not say whether the dismissals are related to the alleged assaults. Athletics director Mark Hollis declined to elaborate.
