A suburban Detroit mail carrier who had stashed more than 20,000
pieces of mail at his home lost his job but got a break from
federal prosecutors.
More people will be charged as part of a long-running probe of
corruption under disgraced former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, federal
prosecutors said Thursday.

Federal agents from at least three different agencies have
searched a pain-management clinic in suburban Detroit.
An FBI agent testified Wednesday that an ongoing federal
financial investigation led him to interview a person at a real
estate office who worked with former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick
and his wife to find a leased mansion where they live.
The FBI is trying to determine whether members of a radical
Detroit-area Islamic group were homegrown jihadists or merely a
“bunch of thugs with bluster,” a congressman said Thursday. One
thing is certain: They are not mainstream Muslims, the agency
said.
The feds arrest several members of a radical Sunni Islam group.
During one raid, agents killed one of the group’s leaders during a
shootout. Meanwhile, the FBI is still looking for three suspects.
