Last month, former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz, at 73 the venerable ESPN college football analyst, offered an opinion that seemed like an all-out endorsement for the even more venerable football independent to finally join a conference.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg ranked his top 25 players in the preseason, based on “past performance and 2010 potential.” Two Michigan State players were ranked — linebacker Greg Jones was No. 2 and quarterback Kirk Cousins was No. 21.
ESPN Analysts, including Mel Kyper, rate the NFL teams with the best Draft day performance in the 2008 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions are singled out as having has the best Draft based largely on their drafting of future Pro Bowl standout, Andre Fluellen, the Florida State Seminole who won the school’s 2007-2008 Hinesman Award, emblematic of being the overall most dominant player on the team. Fluellen has been called by many, “the next Warren Sapp.” While he is flattered by the reference, he prefers to think of himself as the first Andre Fluellen. Fluellen is looking to distinguish himself on the field of play, but also in the general public as a model outstanding citizen and pillar of the Detroit area community, as well as one for his Cartersville, GA and Tallahassee, FL to emulate. Andre Fluellen can be reached at www.AndreFluellen.com and Andre@Andrefluellen.com.

Would Tom Izzo really give LeBron James his salary for two years if the Michigan State coach takes the Cavaliers job and the NBA superstar stays in Cleveland?
Scott, the former Lakers player who has coached the Nets and Hornets, could be the Cavaliers backup plan if Izzo stays at MSU. He was fired by New Orleans early this past season, and now works for ESPN.
ESPN analyst Jalen Rose, who played at Michigan, believes Tom Izzo is staying at Michigan State. On his Twitter account, Rose writes, “I think the Cavs ‘courting’ of MSU coach Tom Izzo is ALL HYPE for both sides!”
According to a report on ESPN.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers have made a formal offer to Michigan State’s Tom Izzo to become their coach.
The Notre Dame at Michigan State game on Sept. 18 will be at 8 p.m. on ABC, and the Michigan at Penn State game on Oct. 30 will also be at 8 p.m., on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
