Michigan State boasts about its five Final Four appearances in 11 years. But one thing still haunts the Spartans, and it was reinforced Friday night against Minnesota. For the 11th straight year, coach Tom Izzo's program left the Big Ten tournament empty-handed.

Coach Tom Izzo said Allen, a starting guard, was suspended indefinitely because of academic issues and a failure to meet other team obligations. Izzo said Allen would not play Friday in MSU's first game of the Big Ten tournament.
